Manchester City could offload up to eight first-team players at the end of the season, according to reports.
The Daily Star claim that Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish. Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic, John Stones, Ederson and Kyle Walker are all likely to depart the Etihad Stadium.
Supporters on X are not totally surprised by the news although some believe at least one or two will remain with the Cityzens beyond the summer:

At least 3 City players are certain to leave
De Bruyne and Gundogan have deals that expire in June and neither player is currently in negotiations to extend his stay.
Kyle Walker does have a contract that runs until 2026 but he is expected to be sold once he returns from his loan spell at AC Milan.
Guardiola wants to work with hungry players
Speaking about the makeup of the squad recently, manager Pep Guardiola made it very clear that the age of the team must be lowered:
“Decisions have to be made at a team level. We have started to do it. Things are not eternal, there are players who have an age.”
Many of the players mentioned in the Daily Star‘s report are past their prime, having hit 30, so it stands to reason that their futures are in question. Guardiola is clearly keen to work with players who are younger, fresher and hungrier. As some have said already, this looks like the end of an era.
