Man City midfielder Rodri remains on the sidelines with a muscular injury.
The 29-year-old has not played since limping off during the 1-0 win over Brentford at the start of October. Prior to the game against Villarreal, manager Pep Guardiola said Rodri would not be back until after the Villa fixture:
‘I don’t think so [for Tuesday]. Aston Villa, I don’t think so either. It’s not long, but it’s muscular. We have to be careful. We tried many times to prevent another injury, but we have not been able to do that, so we will see.’
Rodri is not expected to feature in the Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Swansea City on Wednesday, and it remains to be seen whether he will return for the next Premier League fixture against Bournemouth next weekend. If he isn’t available to face the Cherries, there are only two more games (Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool) before the next international break.
Expected Return Date – Unknown
