Man City attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki showed off some tremendous skills in training this week.
The Frenchman was playing in a small team drill where he used his expert close ball control to trick two of his teammates before flicking the ball into the back of the net.
Supporters on X were praising Cherki’s ability and some are calling for manager Pep Guardiola to start him in upcoming fixtures:

Cherki has received some big compliments from Guardiola
Speaking at the start of the week, the 22-year-old was hailed by his manager as “one of the most talented players” he has ever seen in his career.
Considering that Guardiola has worked with the likes of Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and (more recently), David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, that is not a remark to be taken lightly.
Will he start for Man City against Aston Villa?
Cherki has had a stop-start campaign so far due to injury problems. A thigh issue kept him on the sidelines for several weeks and he only returned to the matchday squad for the win over Everton last weekend.
The France international has only had two brief substitute appearances since recovering match fitness, so while it is expected he will get more minutes versus Villa, he may not be ready to start games quite yet.
