The much-awaited Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 is set to begin today, August 21, at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second edition of the league promises high-octane action with a total of 33 matches lined up, including the knockout stages, all played in a double round-robin format. The tournament will run until September 7, when the grand finale will decide the new champions of Kerala cricket.

Six teams to battle for supremacy

The competition will feature six franchises from across the state:

• Kochi Blue Tigers
• Aries Kollam Sailors
• Calicut Globstars
• Alleppey Ripples
• Thrissur Titans
• Trivandrum Royals

Each team will play with a mix of local talent and experienced cricketers, making the league a platform for Kerala’s budding stars to showcase their skills.

Big names set to light up KCL 2025

Adding star power to the tournament is Sanju Samson, India’s wicketkeeper-batter, who will represent Kochi Blue Tigers. Interestingly, the team will be led by his brother, Saly Samson, making the franchise one of the most talked-about sides this season.

Other notable Kerala cricketers such as Sachin Baby, Jalaj Saxena, Vishnu Vinod, Basil Thampi, and KM Asif will also feature in the league, bringing both experience and excitement to the competition.
