ICC announces Match Officials for the two semi-finals of Women’s World Cup 2025

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the list of match officials for the two highly anticipated semi-finals of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. With the group stage now concluded, the action moves to Guwahati and Navi Mumbai, where four of the world’s top teams — England, South Africa, India, and Australia — will battle for a place in the final.

England vs South Africa: Sheridan and Williams to take charge in Guwahati

The first semi-final will feature England taking on South Africa at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on October 29. The ICC has appointed Eloise Sheridan and Jacquline Williams, both from the Emirates ICC International Panel of Umpires, as the on-field umpires for this clash.

Sheridan brings valuable experience to the contest, having officiated in several key matches during the group stage, including the earlier meeting between England and South Africa — a game the English side won comprehensively by 10 wickets. She also stood in South Africa’s victory over Pakistan, showcasing her familiarity with both teams’ playing styles.

Williams, meanwhile, oversaw four group stage matches involving the two sides. She officiated South Africa’s wins against India and Bangladesh, along with England’s group matches — a triumph over India and a defeat against Australia. Her understanding of these teams’ dynamics adds depth to the officiating lineup for this crucial knockout fixture.

Completing the officiating team for the first semi-final, Vrinda Rathi will serve as the third umpire, Claire Polosak as the fourth umpire, and GS Lakshmi — from the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees — will act as the match referee.

India vs Australia: Agenbag and Redfern to oversee Navi Mumbai blockbuster

The second semi-final, scheduled for October 30 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, promises to be a thrilling encounter between hosts India and reigning champions Australia.

South African umpire Lauren Agenbag and England’s Sue Redfern have been appointed as the on-field umpires for this marquee matchup. Agenbag is well-acquainted with the Indian team, having stood in their group matches against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Her familiarity with India’s playing conditions and players will be an asset in ensuring a smooth contest.

Redfern, on the other hand, brings experience and calmness to the field. She officiated the group stage encounter between India and Australia, a game remembered for Alyssa Healy’s dazzling century that guided the Aussies to a record-breaking run chase in women’s ODIs.

Supporting them will be Kim Cotton as the third umpire, Nimali Perera as the fourth umpire, and Michell Pereira as the match referee for the high-stakes clash.
