Eberechi Eze Set To Join Arsenal As Mikel Arteta Targets Premier League Title

Arsenal get matchday four of the Premier League underway at 12:30pm local time tomorrow as they host Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium, looking to win their second home outing of the season after a 5-0 success against Leeds United a while ago.

The Gunners lost against Liverpool in their outing at Anfield before the international break and were criticised for their lack of desire to attack and win the game, so it will be interesting to see what Ange Postecoglou has to come up against on his debut in the opposing dugout.

With that said, here is how the Gunners may line-up for the match.

Goalkeeper – David Raya is expected to keep his place in between the sticks having conceded only one goal so far in the season.

Defenders – Jurrien Timber was on the scoresheet with a brace against Leeds United in Arsenal’s first home game of the season and has been doing a good job defensively too, so he might retain his place in the team at right back, while Riccardo Calafiori may feature as the full back on the left side of defence.

With William Saliba out until early October due to an injury he suffered against Liverpool, £13 million signing from Valencia, Cristhian Mosquera, could be tasked with partnering Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of the back four.

Eze could replace Madueke

Midfielders – Mikel Merino scored a hat-trick for Spain against Turkey on international duty but might return to the bench against Nottingham Forest with Arsenal likely to hand Martin Zubimendi a start at defensive midfield. Declan Rice might play on the left side of the new signing, while Martin Odegaard could return to the team having been benched against Liverpool last time.

Forwards – Noni Madueke did not have a very promising game against Liverpool and he could be replaced by £60 million summer signing Eberechi Eze on the right flank with Bukayo Saka injured, and Gabriel Martinelli might feature on the left wing. Viktor Gyokeres scored a brace against Leeds United last time and will be the favourite to lead the line at home for Arsenal again.

Here is how Arsenal might look on paper.
