Tyrique George will be part of Chelsea’s Champions League squad

In a bizarre turnaround, one player who’s move collapsed late on deadline day is going to be part of Chelsea’s UCL squad.

Usually when a player is trying to leave Chelsea and they end up staying, they will just waste away in the U21s, training alone, and being part of the ‘bomb squad’ having to wait until the next transfer window to be able to get their move away.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea tried to sign Wolves striker on deadline day!!

I see this happening with both Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi, with none of them getting a move away from the club this summer after both clearly being on the transfer list throughout the entire transfer window.

And another player who was all set to leave was winger Tyrique George. He agreed a permanent transfer to Fulham but for some reason it collapsed at the final stages and George has now had to stay at Chelsea this season.

One player who did get his move away confirmed late on though was striker Nicolas Jackson joining Bayern Munich on a season long loan deal.

Jackson’s agent said that his client needed a club that ‘matches his ambitions’ as what seemed to read as a bit of a parting shot at Chelsea.

Tyrique George will be part of Chelsea’s Champions League squad apparently, as he’s been forced to stay at the club this season.

Fabrizio Romano posted the story on his X account last night as he rounded up a number of the transfer deals from deadline day.

Not an ideal situation

I’m sure George will give it his all staying at Chelsea, being a player from the academy and a player who will always be proud to wear the shirt. But I can’t see him playing much at all this season and it’s far from ideal really.
