Manchester City and Manchester United are both interested in signing Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe claim that the 23-year-old could well be on the move this summer with the player attracting the attention of teams across Europe.
In addition to the two Manchester rivals, Paris Saint-Germain and clubs in Spain are keeping tabs on Akliouche.
However, Monaco’s asking price may lead to the field of potential destinations narrowing. The Ligue One side are hoping to hold out for a fee between €70m (£60m) and €80m (£68.6m).
L’Equipe believe a deal may eventually been done for a slightly lower price – approximately €50m (£43m) – but it would still be an expensive investment for someone who doesn’t always have an end product.
How has Akliouche performed this season?
The France Under 23 international has scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists 39 appearances, which is a pretty average return for a player who could cost a sizeable sum of money.
Even so, many feel that Akliouche has massive potential and he could well be on the cusp of becoming an elite performer. For that reason, this summer could be the right time to make a move for him.

Like Akliouche, Thierry Henry also came through Monaco’s academy and the winger praised the Gunners icon last year for offering him guidance:
“Both on and off the pitch, he gives me a lot of advice. Thanks to his experience as a player and coach, his words are gold. You have to pay attention to them. When he says something to you, you pay attention because he never says just anything.”
“He’s also aware that young players need more attention and advice, so he helps us a lot. It’s important to have that help.”
Henry selected Akliouche in France’s squad for the Olympics. He played in all six games at the tournament last August, scoring in the defeat to Spain as Les Bleus lost in the final.
